GRILLE FABRICATION
Loudspeaker cabinet grilles - made to spec
- Hand made: We get hands on with manual machines.
- Sheared: Sheets are cut clean with a Guillotine.
- Folded: Edges can be return folded for a sleek professional look.
- Powder coated: Satin black as standard, available via a second party service.
- Protected: Our grilles offer strong protection for exposed speaker drivers!

Material selection
We use strong Mild steel perforated sheets, which we cut & fold to spec.
2 standard grill types are available: Both round hole staggered pitch perforation patterns.
Standard: 5mm hole / 6mm pitch / 65% open area / 1mm thick.
- Medium physical strength.
- Almost entirely acoustically transparent.
- Best for midrange & high frequency cabinets less prone to bumps and bangs.
Heavy duty: 5mm hole / 7mm pitch / 45% open area / 1.5mm thick.
- High physical strength.
- Acoustic SPL loss of around 1.5dB above 10khz.
- Best for low mid & bass cabinets, strong & ready for the road.
Note: for larger orders we can also supply hexagon pattern grills (contact to discuss)
How to measure:
For flat grills:
- Measure the aperture EXACTLY.
- Hold the tape measure flat and straight.
- DO NOT allow a fitting allowance, let us do that.
For folded grills:
- Measure the depth of the channel with a steel rule.
- Measure the width of the channel with a steel rule or caliper.
- Measure both inside & outside channel apertures EXACTLY.
- Hold the tape measure flat and straight.
- DO NOT allow a fitting allowance, let us do that.
Note:
We WILL NOT refund improper fitting grilles if the clients supplied measurements are incorrect. 'Class 1' accuracy tape measures should be used, and used correctly.
